About

Ieva Strunkienė is a Senior Associate in the Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group at COBALT Lithuania. She has over 15 years of experience in the legal field.

Recently, Ieva has been specialising in all aspects of insolvency, bankruptcy, and restructuring. She also has valuable experience in M&A, corporate governance, and legal due diligence issues.

Prior to joining the law firm COBALT, Ieva worked with other law firms and gained experience at Swedbank, AB Group companies, the Resources Agency under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, and a notary’s office. She lived and studied in the UK, where she was awarded a BA Honours degree in Law and Business. Ieva also has legislative experience gained while working as an assistant to a member of Parliament (Seimas) of the Republic of Lithuania.

Membership & education

  • The opportunity to study a new and relevant topic of insolvency and bankruptcy at both Lithuanian and international levels prompted Ieva Strunkienė to pursue doctoral studies at Mykolas Romeris University, where she obtained her PhD in social sciences of law in 2022.
  • Active participant in international projects. One of the most significant was joining the World Bank Group team to prepare a study on the regulation of bankruptcy and insolvency institute in Lithuania. Currently, Ieva, along with other EU experts, investigates aspects of the Stigma of Bankruptcy.
  • Also an active member on social media, leading the project “Watch the FAB” on the topic of personal bankruptcy (in Lithuanian, Fizinio Asmens Bankrotas), she also shares relevant insights on debts, bailiffs’ activities, and insolvency topics.
