Victory secured in an administrative offence case

COBALT has successfully defended a client in an administrative offence case concerning an alleged dangerous driving offence which is punishable by a fine between EUR 450 and EUR 550 and carries obligatory disqualification from driving for between 1 and 2 years.
The COBALT team proved that the individual had no intention to break the traffic rules by dangerous driving as he accidentally drove onto the roadside. COBALT assisted with the drafting of the procedural documents, providing explanations and represented the client at an oral hearing. The administrative offence committed by the individual was reclassified as falling under the article of the Code of Administrative Offences providing for administrative liability for non-compliance with road signs or markings, and an administrative order was issued proposing payment of half of the minimum fine, without disqualification from driving.
The client’s interests were represented, and procedural documents were drafted by COBALT Senior Associate Linas Kuprusevičius and COBALT Associate Arnas Trukšnys.
