The court dismisses claim for damages

COBALT successfully represented AS SEB banka in a dispute with a former client of the bank for the recovery from the bank of EUR 200 000 in damages, which the client of the bank claimed to have suffered as a result of the unlawful handling of funds in his account by the client’s authorised representative. By judgment of the Riga Regional Court of 4 July 2022, the action was dismissed in its entirety. On 22 December 2022 the Supreme Court decided not to initiate cassation proceedings in the case, and the Regional Court’s judgment dismissing the action entered into force.
