Supreme Court declares the claim of Agency of Medicines unconstitutional

COBALT Law Firm successfully represented the Lithuanian veterinary medicines manufacturer UAB Veta in court in relation to the obligation to pay an annual fee for each marketing authorisation of a registered veterinary medicine, which entered into force in July 2022. On 31th of January 2025, the Supreme Court upheld the position of UAB Veta, explaining that the annual fee applicable to UAB Veta lacked the necessary delegating provision.
As a result of the ruling, UAB Veta will not have to pay the annual fee for the years 2022 and 2023.

UAB Veta has been active in the veterinary field for more than 30 years. They are one of the first private veterinary companies in Lithuania and their core business is the wholesale distribution of the highest quality veterinary medicines and instruments as well as organic feed additives and pet food.
