Lennuabi secures hundreds of thousands of euros in compensation from SmartLynx

Lennuabi, a company specializing in flight compensation recovery, successfully settled a dispute with the charter airline SmartLynx. As a result, Lennuabi’s customers received nearly half a million euros in compensation for delayed and unexpectedly canceled flights.

This spring, the Latvian charter company SmartLynx Airlines announced the termination of its operations in the Baltic countries, leaving hundreds of passengers with claims for compensation due to flight delays or cancellations. Lennuabi, which focuses on flight compensation claims, reached a compromise with SmartLynx, settling claims worth almost 0.5 million euros by early summer. Payments were made to customers at the beginning of June.

According to Karl Hõbemägi, CEO of Lennuabi, although SmartLynx’s departure from the Estonian market was sudden, the airline cooperatively accepted its responsibility. Hõbemägi also noted that it is possible to claim compensation for failed flights within the last three years. He encourages passengers whose flights have been delayed, canceled, or overbooked during this period to apply for compensation.
