East Metal resumes operations in Latvia 

On 4 September 2024, the Zemgale District Court granted legal protection to East Metal SIA, a Latvian metalworking company. As a result, the company’s two factories in Daugavpils and Dobele, employing a total of 550 workers, are expected to resume operations shortly. 

A detailed plan for East Metal’s legal protection process is currently being developed with the goal of fully restoring the company’s solvency. 

Ministry of Economics has also expressed support for East Metal’s efforts to resolve financial difficulties as swiftly as possible.
