COBALT teamed with Castren & Snellmann on advising DT Group on a billion-euro acquisition of Finnish Puukeskus

The largest retailer and distributor of building materials in the Nordic region DT Group acquired Finland’s leading supplier of timber and building materials to the trade and general public Puukeskus.

The billion-euro acquisition was announced in the beginning of February and has now been completed with the approval by the authorities. Combining the strengths of DT Group member Starkki and Puukeskus serves the goal to be the leader in the Finnish market.

The international law firm Castren & Snellmann acted as the legal adviser for the buyer DT Group. COBALT teamed up with Castren & Snellmann to perform a legal due diligence on the Estonian unit and to provide legal advice on pre-closing, transactional and post-closing matters. COBALT team consisted of partner Martin Simovart and associate Kris Tammistu.
