COBALT advised NEPI Rockcastle on tax matters in the acquisition of shopping center “Ozas”

COBALT advised commercial property investment and development company NEPI Rockcastle on all tax matters in relation to the acquisition of shopping center “Ozas” from ARENA Zweite Verwaltungs GmbH. NEPI Rockcastle acquired shares in JSC “Ozantis”, owner of the shopping center “Ozas”, for 124.6 million Eur.

“COBALT represented NEPI Rockcastle in the transaction and advised on all tax matters related to the acquisition. This is one of the largest and, in my opinion, one of the most complex recent real estate transactions in the Baltic market. So far, the largest acquisitions in the real estate market have mostly been completed by local or regional investors, and this time the buyer is a large international property investment fund. This required a high degree of our involvement and even more sophisticated tax risk assessment”, says COBALT Managing Associate, Head of Tax Rokas Daugėla.
