COBALT advised Lixea in raising a 2-million euro investment from the European Innovation Council

COBALT advised Lixea in the transaction for raising 2 million euro investment from European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund) pilot.

Lixea is a London-based start-up founded in 2017, which develops an innovative biomass fractionation process using ionic liquids. The goal of the company is to pioneer a more sustainable chemical industry.

The EIC Fund investment enables Lixea to accelerate the commercialization of its technology for converting wood waste into renewable chemicals, materials, and fuels and offers a green alternative to the petrochemical industry.

COBALT advised Lixea in the negotiation, drafting, and completion of the transaction. The client was advised by Partner Kristel Raidla-Talur and Senior Associate Sven Böttcher.
