COBALT advised Iron Wolf Capital in its EUR 1.6m investment in Integrated Fiber Optics. This investment is very sizeable for a seed investment in Lithuania. The deal confirms the status of Lithuania as a country leading in laser technology research, worldwide.
Iron Wolf Capital is an EU based venture capital fund that invests in high growth, micro, small and medium-sized companies that are or are planning to pursue R&D in smart specialization. IWC invests in startups driven by innovation that are capable of achieving a competitive advantage on a global scale, resulting from innovative product offering, innovative technology or unique business model.
Integrated Fiber Optics specializes in research and development of innovative integrated fiber optic components. The company has patented an ultra-short optical pulse laser technology and has global aspirations in a market that is growing 25% per year, expected to surpass USD 16b by 2025.
Their team having more than 12 years of experience in research and development of fiber lasers and fiber laser related components offer innovative solutions and products for industry, telecommunication and scientific sectors.
COBALT represented Iron Wolf Capital in negotiations and in drafting and coordinating transaction documents also advised on all matters related to the transaction. The project team was composed of COBALT Partner Dr Juozas Rimas, Senior Associate Aurelija Balčiūnė and Associate Kostas Grigaitis.
