AS Terminal defends its rights in the liquid fuel market regarding violations committed by Olerex

AS Terminal is defending its rights in the liquid fuel market regarding violations committed by Olerex.

Companies operating in the Estonian fuel market must fulfil the biofuel obligation, which essentially stipulates that a certain amount of fuel allowed for consumption must be biofuel. According to Terminal, one of the market participants has consistently breached this obligation. These violations have been made possible, in part, due to insufficient supervision.

Terminal has initiated steps to protect its rights and to restore normal market conditions. To this end, Terminal has actively contributed to various proceedings, filed a claim for damages in court, submitted a complaint to the European Commission, appealed to the Competition Authority, and contributed to legislation, among other actions.

COBALT is advising Terminal in all proceedings and tasks that could lead to the termination of violations, the prosecution of violators, and the restoration of normal market conditions. Our team is led by Managing Associate Annika Peetsalu. The team also includes Partner Jaanus Mody, Managing Associates Kaidi Reiljan-Sihvart and Lembit Tedder, Specialist Counsel Mart Blöndal, Junior Associates Laura Viira and Crislyn Piirits, Associate Henri Hansson, and Assistant Lawyers Jaanus Randma and Kristi Ojala.
