2024 - 05 - 15

The Latvian national airline airBaltic has successfully issued EUR 340 million senior secured bonds with a maturity of 5.25 years to be listed on Euronext Dublin stock exchange. Thus far it is the largest corporate bond issue originating from Latvia.

The transaction was well received by both the international and local investment communities, as well as the Latvian State, resulting in a final allocation to more than 100 leading global institutional investors from more than 20 countries across 3 continents. The demand for the bond exceeded the supply with the final orderbook surpassing EUR 800 million.

The successful issuance of this bond serves to refinance airBaltic’s previously issued EUR 200 million bonds.

COBALT team, led by Partner Edgars Lodziņš, in cooperation with an international law firm Dentons, provided full legal assistance to airBaltic in connection with the issuance of bonds. COBALT team included Specialist Counsel Andrejs Lielkalns, Senior Associates Krišjānis Bušs, Ivo Cimdiņš, Agnese Gerharde, and Associates Maira Pužule and Toms Dreika.
