Alise is part of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practice group, specializing in navigating the complex sustainability landscape as well as business and human rights matters.
She supports the ESG team in integrating sustainability into company policies, contracts, and processes. She helps companies understand and address sustainability-related impacts, risks, and opportunities. Alise is an expert on the practical implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct, and other leading standards. Compliance with these standards helps clients meet the requirements of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDD), and other relevant legislation. It also aligns clients with the expectations of business partners and other stakeholders.
Alise also has significant experience in intellectual property law matters. She is a Latvian and European Trademark and Design Attorney licensed to represent clients before the Latvian Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
