Law firms Borenius and COBALT (formerly LAWIN) have completed their merger in Estonia and, as of today, operate jointly under the name COBALT. By lawyer and attorney numbers, the new firm is the largest in Estonia, also forming the largest chain of law offices in the Baltics.
“Our plan to merge has been well received by employees, clients and business partners, who consider this step a clear sign of a strengthening Baltic legal market,” comments Sten Luiga, Senior Partner of COBALT.
The Estonian office of COBALT will field more than 60 lawyers and attorneys, of whom 13 are partners. Services available from the new office include all areas of business law. COBALT aims to deliver business clients the best legal services in the region by quality as well as flexibility.
“Having completed the merger, we can start work on developing our support structures in order to ensure that the added value created by the merger reaches our employees and clients as soon as possible,” adds Martin Simovart, COBALT Partner.
The COBALT Estonian office will be located in Kawe Plaza (Pärnu mnt 15). This will become the team’s new home as of December. The new office in Estonia will be managed by Sten Luiga, Jaanus Mody and Martin Simovart.
In addition to the Estonian offices, the Latvian and Lithuanian offices of Borenius and COBALT will also merge under the new brand. These mergers will also soon be finalized in their national commercial registers.
The legal practices and attorneys of the new office have received the highest international recognition in major legal directories such as Chambers & Partners, Legal500, WTR1000, and IFLR1000.
