COBALT Wins IFLR Most Innovative Baltic Law Firm of the Year 2019 Award

COBALT is recognized as the Most Innovative Law Firm of the Year 2019 in the Baltics at the IFLR European Awards in London on 4 April. The award ceremony celebrated the most innovative cross-border transactions in Europe that closed during 2018 and the individuals and teams behind them.

Additionally, COBALT was nominated for the Deal of the Year award in two categories: Equity (Port of Tallinn IPO) and High Yield Deal of the Year (Novalpina’s high yield offering).

Martin Simovart, Partner and Head of International Relations at COBALT said, “The market was very active during 2018 and COBALT had the privilege to advise the majority of the market’s high-profile deals. In addition to a remarkable year in deals, we have invested significantly in improving the efficiency of processes and adapting the tools that enable our lawyers to focus on analytical thinking instead of spending valuable time on administration tasks. Receiving the award for the Most Innovative National Firm of the Year 2019 is a great acknowledgement of all our efforts.”

Dace Silava-Tomsone, Managing Partner of COBALT Latvia office stated: “We are pleased to receive this honour, but we also know that it was only possible because clients entrust us with their most complex legal matters. This achievement is evidence of COBALT’s ability to consistently provide innovative advice on complex and high profile transactional and corporate finance work.”

Managing Partner of COBALT Lithuania office, Dr Irmantas Norkus says: “We are truly honoured to win this prestigious award. Given our core strategic focus, our reputation for innovation is very important to us as it creates excitement to our team members and clients. We aim to provide creative and integrated solutions and deliver value for our cooperation partners.”

In March 2018 COBALT hosted the first ever Legal Hackathon in the region and established the first Baltics Blockchain task force. COBALT is the go-to Baltic firm for IT, fintech, ICOs and tech-related transactions.
