On 27 February 2014 COBALT, in cooperation with the Lithuanian business daily Verslo žinios and the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LCI), will host the annual public procurement conference "Public Procurement 2014: solutions for business. Amendments to the law and forms of liability".
The aim of the event is to review relevant amendments to the Law on Public Procurement in Lithuania which came into effect at the beginning of 2014 and discuss the types of liability for infringements of the Law.
The value of public procurement projects implemented in Lithuania totals more than USD 5 million per year. However, the number of infringements occurring during public procurement procedures remains at a high level. The purpose of the conference is not only to discuss the issues of Public Procurement but also propose solutions and highlight further potential developments on the market.
Lawyers, prosecutors, representatives of the Public Procurement Office and entrepreneurs will share practical advice and discuss the following issues:
- how to reduce the number of infringements limiting competition
- how to notice and avoid them
- what are the forms of liability
- how to solve problems related to public procurement
- how to solve problems in PPP projects
- what are compensation mechanisms for damages etc.
