2010 — 09 — 01

We gladly share the news of the setting up of the International Arvo Pärt Centre, which aims to introduce, promote and preserve the music of the world famous Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.

Grammy-winner Arvo Pärt is one of the most influential contemporary Estonian composers, having introduced his self-made compositional technique and leaving his mark on the development of sacred music.

The founders of the International Arvo Pärt Centre and the family of the composer plan to digitalise, archive and document Pärt’s music, his work and personal notes. The centre, opening to the public in 2015, will host conferences, concerts and workshops on Pärt’s creation, issue publications associated with Pärts’ life and work, as well as supporting students and scholars with material for thesis and research plus awarding scholarships.

COBALT supported the foundation of the Centre by advising on corporate, commercial and copyright issues.
