Inbank signs its first synthetic securitisation with the European Investment Bank Group
2024 - 12 - 12
We had an honour to assist Inbank upon entering into its first synthetic securitisation transaction with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and European Investment Fund (EIF). The transaction is backed by EUR 147 million (PLN 635 million) in solar panel loans to private individuals and is aiming at accelerating Poland’s green energy transition and supporting green lending. This landmark transaction for the bank will provide capital relief and enable Inbank to provide up to EUR 163 million (PLN 701 million) in new, more competitively priced loans to private individuals in Poland over the next three years.
COBALT advised Inbank on all Estonian law aspects of the transactions. Our team included Partners Marina Kotkas and Monika Koolmeister, Specialist Counsel Kaarel Eller and Senior Associate Christine Mägi.
“We are glad to have been part of one of the first synthetic securitization transactions on the Estonian market. Hopefully, the successful completion of this transaction by Inbank paves way for more similar transactions to come.”
