2024 - 04 - 29
Chambers & Partners named COBALT the winner of the Baltic-wide Firm of the Year 2024 award at the Chambers Europe Awards ceremony held in Paris. The award is among the most prestigious international accolades that a law firm can receive. The ceremony celebrated the best law firms in Europe, assessing their achievements and excellence in client matters, strategic growth and client service over the past 12 months. COBALT has previously received the award on five occasions, most recently in 2022.
The award follows our outstanding results in the most recent Chambers & Partners Europe Guide research, where COBALT received the highest rating (Band 1) in 18 practice areas – the most of any other Baltic law firm.
Partners Dr Irmantas Norkus, Lauris Liepa, and Martin Simovart were present to accept the award and expressed their gratitude to all 250 team members of COBALT for their daily commitment and ardour which have established COBALT as an exceptional place to seek legal counsel and work.
“We are delighted that COBALT has been acknowledged once again by Chambers & Partners as the leading law firm in the Baltics. For us, this award signifies our clients’ appreciation of the investments we have made in our people and client service offering to guide them through the region’s most complex and significant assignments,” comments Lauris Liepa, COBALT Managing Partner in Riga.
According to Chambers, “COBALT is a clear market leader in the Baltics. It is unsurpassed in its number of rankings and unrivalled in its number of top-tier departments, moving up to Band 1 for Real Estate in Lithuania in the Chambers Europe 2024 guide. Furthermore, the law firm has more top-ranked practitioners than any other firm in the region. This Baltic powerhouse consistently acts on the largest transactions and disputes across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.”
“COBALT is an institution of scale, and there are experts for very different subjects,” enthuses one client, while another similarly highlights the law firm’s full-service prowess: “The lawyers really like to deep-dive into specific issues and bring examples of legal precedents, and we like that they provide a personal touch. They cover a broad range of legal practices such as tax, disputes, and employment matters, which is valuable for our business.”
