COBALT advised Komas Oy upon acquisition of component manufacturing business in Estonia from Cargotec’s Group

On February 10, 2012 Komas Oy and Cargotec Oyj completed the transfer to Komas’ Group of Cargotec’s component manufacturing business located in Narva, Estonia, which employs approximately 370 employees. COBALT acted as Estonian legal adviser to the acquirer, Komas Oy. The value of the transaction is confidential.
This expansion to Narva will further strengthen the position of Komas as one of Cargotec’s preferred suppliers of steel structures, and provides Komas with an opportunity for cost-effective production.
The Narva unit, Komas Estonia OÜ, will continue production in its existing premises as the Estonian subsidiary of Komas Oy.
Komas is an international systems supplier for the engineering industry, with its head office located in Jyväskylä, Finland. The company has facilities in nine Finnish municipalities and factories in Poland and China.
The Komas Group employs approx. 1550 people and its turnover is approx. EUR 120 million.
