2013 - 03 - 27
London-based emotion measurement technology company Realeyes completed a USD 3.2 million A‑round investment by Entrepreneurs Fund and SmartCap on 25 March 2013. After this transaction, the total financing raised by Realeyes exceeds USD 4.6 million.
Realeyes is a technology company that uses computer vision to read faces via webcams and in-store cameras, and to measure human emotion. Realeye collects and analyses facial response data of millions of consumers. The company’s goal is to help clients to get better results from their communications by providing accurate and actionable engagement metrics that traditional methods cannot deliver. The company’s fastest-growing area is social video, where it is currently developing its technology to gather facial/emotional feedback from social media and mobile apps. Clients include leading publishers, advertising agencies, research firms and numerous Fortune 500 brands.
Entrepreneurs Fund is the venture capital member of COFRA, a global, family-controlled group of businesses. Entrepreneurs Fund is currently investing from its second EUR 100 million fund, which is targeted at early stage and growth companies owning strong technology/IP, and with a focus on Europe. SmartCap is an Estonian early-stage venture fund with a broad technology focus, currently managing the largest portfolio of Estonian based and originated start-ups.
The USD 3.2 million investment enables Realeyes to advance its technology platform, quadruple its sales force internationally and move its US offices from Boston to New York.
The COBALT team for this transaction included partner Martin Simovart, senior associate Heleri Tammiste and associate Karl Kull.
