COBALT’s partner Kristel Raidla-Talur and senior associate Karl Kull advise investment company SmartCap on investing 4.2 million euros in the accelerator fund Superangel. The fund has presence in Estonia and Silicon Valley and expects to have the final closing at 20 million euros. Other noteworthy investors include LHV pension funds.
Superangel is an early stage investment fund that invests in technology companies around the world, preferring companies associated with Estonia, whose founders have great ambition to break through globally. The average seed investment duration is 7 years and the investment starts in the early stages but follow-on investments are also planned. The fund is run by three well-known entrepreneurs – Veljo Otsason, Rain Rannu and Marek Kriisa – who are all experienced in establishing and building startups and managing venture capital investments.
